Alva and Mattias

Alva and Mattias infuse their inherited musical tradition with contemporary colours, weaving themselves into the long chain of folk music. The violin moves between traditional swing and lyrical improvisations, intertwining voices around Alva's singing, while Mattias conjures melodies and spirited guitar accompaniments. In the balance between light-hearted warmth and serious depth, they let the music touch the listener, in all its simplicity.

The duo's members have long been active on the Swedish folk music scene in ensembles such as Norr om Stockholm, Bjäran, Fränder and Västanå teater. After nearly a decade in Stockholm, they are now opening a new chapter in Lycksele.
