Etheen aina etheen - Framåt alltid framåt
Erling Fredriksson explores his Tornedalen roots in a concert spanning over 30 years of his career as a singer, actor and musician. The songs come from theatre productions, studio recordings and performances - many written in Meänkieli, blending folk music, world music, jazz and visa.
The inspiration traces back to the 1970s, when Fredriksson, as a young student in Pajala, had a music teacher named Bengt Granberg who introduced him to Swedish prog, Tornedalen visa and Olle Adolfsson. That's when he developed a taste for music in Meänkieli and began to feel pride in his roots - a pride that sustains this entire concert.
Fredriksson is also theatre director and artistic leader of Tornedalsteatern. On stage with him are bassist Dan Berglund (known from Esbjörn Svensson's trio), violinist and composer Livet Nord (featured on over 60 albums), guitarist Viktor Wilhelmsen and percussionist Isidor Abdelkader with roots in Tärendö.
The concert tours in Skellefteå and Umeå.
