A dance performance where breaking, West African dance, and swing/jazz converge.
Man up! is a dance performance in which three dancers meet in a scenic expression rooted in street dance from different eras and cultures. The choreography is created by Åsa Heedman, and on stage are Jacob Börlin, Demba Niang, and Daniel Heedman - three dancers with different backgrounds, life experiences, and physical languages. Together they explore questions of identity and masculinity: who can I be as a man?
The music is newly composed by rapper, producer, and artist Zacke Lekberg. Jacob Börlin is known to those who attended Up North 2026, where he won the breaking category Seven to Smoke.
