MISS - Sophie Augot and Philip Berlin
The performance MISS draws inspiration from Anita Ekberg's appearance on the Swedish radio programme Sommar i P1 in 2005. Stage artists Philip Berlin and Sophie Augot have listened to the programme countless times and allowed Ekberg's distinctive language and husky voice to inhabit their bodies and imaginations - resulting in a physical and comic performance with its own internal logic.
Anita is channeled through Berlin's and Augot's stage characters as she recounts her journey from Miss Sweden to Miss Universe and on to Hollywood, her encounters with Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, and topics such as olive trees, animal cruelty, and "the royal Swedish envy". The soundscape is built from music from Ekberg's films, Italian schlager, and pop.
The performance is described as entertaining, absurd, moving, and unpredictable - with an atmosphere reminiscent of David Lynch.
An introduction is held at 18.30 in the Bistro, and after the performance there is a public discussion in the foyer. When purchasing tickets, it is possible to buy an Anita plate.
Ticket sales begin 11 August at 12.00. The performance is also part of the season's dance subscription, which can be booked now.
