Äskekärrsskeppet — Göteborgs stadsmuseum, Gothenburg

Äskekärrsskeppet is Sweden's only archaeologically excavated and displayed Viking ship, centrally positioned in the Vikingr exhibition at Gothenburg City Museum. In this Object Quarter session, museum educators discuss how the ship was discovered, examined, and eventually came to the museum - and what can actually be learned from the seemingly modest pile of "wreck wood".

Object Quarter is a series of brief presentations where museum educators highlight selected objects from the collections. The programme is included in the museum's admission ticket, drop-in attendance is welcome, and places are limited. Meet in the museum's foyer.
