Allan Edwall's novella Limpan was published in 1977 and tells the story of a man without a home, without work, and without roots - someone who has fallen through the cracks of society and now sits on a park bench trying to explain to passersby why he ended up there and why he doesn't believe he deserves to exist. Despite its heavy subject matter, the narrative also contains warmth, humor, and a zest for life.
Martina Montelius dramatized the text, and Niklas Ejnar has since adapted it further - and is also the performer of the production. Samuel Olivares Linderström plays the accordion.
