Sara Parkman

Over the past decade, Sara Parkman has transformed Swedish folk music from within and emerged as one of her generation's most influential voices. She has been awarded Grammis, DN's Cultural Prize, and the Ulla Billquist Scholarship.
Now she embarks on an autumn tour with her acclaimed album "Aster, atlas". The record begins with an unexpected rediscovered faith in art, in a decaying garden in the French mountains, and grows from there into a work about labour, beauty, sorrow, decay, and hope. Herding songs interweave with choral music, pulsing electronics meet ancient traditions, and the garden becomes an image for all that is alive - what we try to nurture even though we know it will one day disappear.
The concert at Mejeriet is part of the autumn tour.
