Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili
Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili was founded in 1945 by Iliko and Nino Sukhishvili and is today led by the founders' grandson - the third generation of the family. The ensemble performs Georgian national dance and has appeared in over a hundred countries across five continents, including at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and La Scala in Milan.
The programme features highlights from the ensemble's entire history: virtuosic male dances with acrobatics, high jumps and spinning sabres, as well as female performances marked by elegance and precision. The ensemble's signature is the unique male toe dance. The costumes are made from natural fabrics with silk embroidery, stones and metal details, and the music is performed live by the ensemble's own orchestra on traditional Georgian instruments.
The performance takes place on Monday, 8 February at 19:00 at Göta Lejon in Stockholm. Organiser: Kiart Nord AB.
