Pierre Schori, diplomat and author, portrays Swedish-American Carl Sandburg - journalist, agitator, and beloved poet who worked for peace and gave voice to the weak.

Schori illuminates the American dream, inequality, and the challenges of democracy past and present, drawing parallels between Sandburg's era and modern-day USA.
