Opera: Così fan tutte MET

The Metropolitan Opera season opens with Mozart's comedy Così fan tutte in Phelim McDermott's production inspired by 1950s Coney Island - the love story unfolds at an amusement park along the boardwalk. The performance is broadcast live from the MET and shown at the cinema on 3 October 2026.

Così fan tutte is one of Mozart's final works and is considered the perfect ensemble opera. Two young couples, convinced of their eternal faithfulness to each other, are put to the test in a comedy of wagers, disguises, and Mozart's music. Soprano Federica Lombardi and mezzo-soprano Samantha Hankey sing Fiordiligi and Dorabella, tenor Duke Kim and baritone Andrey Zhilikhovsky play Ferrando and Guglielmo. Bass-baritone Gerald Finley reprises the role of the cynical Don Alfonso, and soprano Ana María Martínez is the maid Despina.
