About

Andrés Orozco-Estrada (born 1977 in Medellín, Colombia) is a conductor with dual Colombian-Austrian nationality who trained at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He served as music director of the Houston Symphony (2014-2022) and principal conductor of the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt (2014-2021), building an acclaimed discography for Pentatone. From autumn 2025 he holds the post of Generalmusikdirektor of the City of Cologne and Gürzenich Kapellmeister, and from the 2026/27 season he becomes music director of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
