Andrés Orozco-Estrada (born 1977 in Medellín, Colombia) is a conductor with dual Colombian-Austrian nationality who trained at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He served as music director of the Houston Symphony (2014-2022) and principal conductor of the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt (2014-2021), building an acclaimed discography for Pentatone. From autumn 2025 he holds the post of Generalmusikdirektor of the City of Cologne and Gürzenich Kapellmeister, and from the 2026/27 season he becomes music director of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Orozco-Estrada made his debut as chief conductor of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Baltic Sea Festival 2026, leading the Swedish premiere of Anders Hillborg's 'Hell Mountain' and Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring.
The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra announced Orozco-Estrada as its next music director, effective with the 2026/27 season, following a vote with strong support from the orchestra's musicians.
Orozco-Estrada took up the position of Generalmusikdirektor of the City of Cologne and Gürzenich Kapellmeister at the start of the 2025/26 season.
