About

Aterciopelados is a Colombian rock band from Bogotá, formed in 1992 by vocalist Andrea Echeverri and bassist Héctor Buitrago. Their sound weaves alternative rock with Colombian and Latin American folk traditions - cumbia, vallenato, bolero - while their lyrics tackle feminist and environmental themes. With four Latin Grammy Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, they are widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in the history of rock en español.
