Deafheaven are an American blackgaze band formed in San Francisco in 2010 by vocalist George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy. They blend black metal's ferocity with shoegaze textures and post-rock dynamics - a style critics labelled 'blackgaze' - and broke through to wide recognition with their 2013 album Sunbather, one of the best-reviewed records of that year. Their sixth album, Lonely People with Power (Roadrunner Records, 2025), drew near-universal acclaim as the band's most complete work to date.
Deafheaven confirmed a summer 2026 European and UK tour running from July 22 in Vienna to August 29 in Malaga, with Show Me The Body opening select dates.
Consequence named Deafheaven their 2025 Heavy Band of the Year and confirmed new music and extensive touring are planned for 2026.
Deafheaven announced a fall 2025 US headlining tour with Harm's Way and I Promised The World, running from September 11 in Chattanooga to October 12 in Lexington.
Lonely People with Power was released on March 28, 2025 via Roadrunner Records, receiving a Metacritic score of 85 based on 16 reviews indicating universal acclaim.
Deafheaven announced their signing to Roadrunner Records in February 2024.
