Dropkick Murphys are a Celtic punk band from Quincy, Massachusetts, formed in 1996. They built their reputation on relentless touring and an annual St. Patrick's Day residency in Boston, blending hardcore punk with bagpipes, tin whistle and accordion. Their 2005 track "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" - featured in Martin Scorsese's The Departed - became a near-double-platinum anthem and one of the most recognisable punk songs of the era. Now nearly 30 years in, the band has sold over 8 million records worldwide and racked up half a billion streams.
Dropkick Murphys and Haywire released the split EP "New England Forever" on March 17, 2026, on Dummy Luck Records.
The band released "Citizen I.C.E." on February 4, 2026, a reworking of their 2005 song "Citizen C.I.A." written in response to ICE enforcement actions in U.S. cities.
Dropkick Murphys announced their 2026 "For The People...In The Pit St. Patrick's Day Tour", a US run celebrating the band's 30th anniversary.
The band released their studio album "For The People" on July 4, 2025, via Dummy Luck Records, with a vinyl and CD edition including five bonus tracks following in October.
