Violinist Isabelle van Keulen performs with the Northern Chamber Orchestra in Luleå.
Isabelle van Keulen (born 16 December 1966 in Mijdrecht, Netherlands) is a Dutch violinist and violist who has built an international career on both instruments - a rare double distinction in the classical world. She won the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in 1984 and has since performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. Since 2017 she has served as artistic director of the Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss, and since 2012 she has held a professorship at the Lucerne School of Music.
Van Keulen taught at the Voksenåsen Summer Academy in Norway in August 2025.
Van Keulen performed with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in May 2025.
Van Keulen released a new CD on Challenge Records International in January 2025.
Van Keulen served as a jury member at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2024.
Van Keulen is touring with the Van Baerle Trio during the 2025-2026 season, playing viola in a programme including Mozart and Schumann piano quartets.
