About

Janove Ottesen (born 27 August 1975) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter who co-founded Kaizers Orchestra with childhood friend Geir Zahl in 2000 and has been the band's lead vocalist and primary songwriter ever since. Kaizers became one of Norway's biggest rock acts - their 2001 debut 'Ompa til du dør' is the highest-selling rock debut ever released in the Norwegian language - and the band is known internationally for theatrical live shows featuring oil barrels as percussion. Beyond Kaizers, Ottesen has released solo albums, composed music for theatre and musicals, and won the Hedda Award in 2019 for the silent symphonic theatre play 'The Mute'.
