Jonas Kaufmann is a German tenor born in Munich in 1969, widely regarded as one of the finest opera singers of his generation. His distinctively dark, rich voice has graced the stages of the Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper and Royal Opera House, among others. He is equally at home in the German and Italian repertoire, from Wagner to Puccini.
