Dexys Midnight Runners play their 80s classics including "Come On Eileen" and "Geno". A nostalgic evening with the iconic band at Göta Lejon.
Kevin Rowland (born 1953, Wolverhampton) is a British singer-songwriter and the founder of Dexys Midnight Runners. The band scored two UK number ones - 'Geno' in 1980 and 'Come On Eileen' in 1982, the latter also topping the US Billboard Hot 100 and winning Best British Single at the 1983 Brit Awards. Rowland has kept the band active across five decades, releasing new albums as recently as 2023 and with a seventh record, LOVE, due in September 2026.
Dexys Midnight Runners released the second single 'You've Got The Love' from their forthcoming album LOVE, due September 4, 2026 on Heavenly Recordings.
The band reverted to the full name Dexys Midnight Runners and signed to Heavenly Recordings ahead of the LOVE album release.
MOJO reported that the new album LOVE is produced by David Holmes and described as arguably the most satisfying Dexys record since their 1985 album Don't Stand Me Down.
Kevin Rowland published his memoir 'Bless Me Father: A Life Story' via Ebury Spotlight on 10 July 2025, covering his life from a troubled childhood through Dexys' chart success and beyond.
Rowland confirmed in an interview that a new Dexys album was planned for 2026 and stated his intention to keep writing and performing.
