About

Dexys Midnight Runners are an English band from Birmingham, founded in 1978 by Kevin Rowland. They topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with 'Come On Eileen' (1982) and 'Geno' (1980), blending soul, Celtic folk and post-punk into a sound that was entirely their own. After years performing under the shortened name Dexys, the band reverted to the full Dexys Midnight Runners name in 2026 and signed to Heavenly Recordings ahead of a new album.
