The Proclaimers are a Scottish pop-rock duo formed in 1983 by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, born in Leith, Edinburgh. They broke through in 1987 with the debut album This Is the Story and the Top 3 UK single 'Letter from America', then reached global audiences with 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' from their 1988 album Sunshine on Leith - a record that has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and gone multi-platinum in Australia and Canada. Across 13 studio albums and nearly four decades of touring, the duo have sold over 5 million albums worldwide, with their music appearing in films such as Benny & Joon and Shrek and inspiring the 2007 stage musical Sunshine on Leith.
The Proclaimers released 'You May Offend', the lead single from their forthcoming 13th studio album of the same name, due out 11 September 2026 via Cooking Vinyl.
