Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco that grew out of Jefferson Airplane via Jefferson Starship. Under vocalist Mickey Thomas, who joined in 1979, the band scored three US number-one singles in the 1980s - 'We Built This City', 'Sara' and 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' - and has toured continuously since reforming in 1992 as Starship featuring Mickey Thomas.
