About

Kristofer Åström is a Swedish singer-songwriter from northern Sweden, known for indie folk and Americana rooted in alt-country. He first gained wider recognition as the frontman of the Gothenburg rock band Fireside, which was signed to Rick Rubin's American Recordings in the 1990s, before launching a prolific solo career in 1998. His Grammy-nominated album Northern Blues (2001) is widely regarded as a landmark in Swedish alt-country, and he has since released over ten solo albums - most recently Hard Times (2020).
