Lysistrate is a comedy by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, written in 411 BC. The Athenian woman Lysistrate rallies the women of Greece to withhold sex from their husbands until the men end the Peloponnesian War. It is one of the oldest surviving anti-war works in Western literature.
