About

Malin Byström (born 3 September 1973 in Helsingborg) is a Swedish lyric soprano who trained at the University of Gothenburg and the University College of Opera in Stockholm. She performs regularly at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Wiener Staatsoper and Bayerische Staatsoper, and has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro Real, Dutch National Opera and San Francisco Opera. Her acclaimed 2017 role debut as Salome earned her the Female Singer of the Year prize at the 2018 International Opera Awards, and in 2018 the King of Sweden appointed her Hovsångerska (Court Singer).
