About

Mamas Gun is a London-based five-piece soul and funk band formed in 2007 by singer, composer and producer Andy Platts - the name taken from Erykah Badu's second album. Their 2009 debut 'Routes to Riches' made them the most-played international act on Japanese radio that year, and six albums in they remain one of Britain's most consistent live draws on the classic soul circuit. Their 2026 release 'DIG!' - recorded on analog tape with Gil Scott-Heron collaborator Brian Jackson - is widely regarded as among their strongest work.
