Maxida Märak (born 17 September 1988, raised in Jokkmokk) is a Swedish-Sámi joik singer, hip-hop artist, actress and indigenous rights activist. She built her name on a raw fusion of joik and hip-hop rooted in Sápmi, and has since expanded into folk song, theatre and film - including a lead role in the SVT/Canal+ series Midnattssol and composing the score for SVT's 2024 Christmas calendar Snödrömmar. Alongside her music she is a prominent voice for Sámi land rights, having taken part in protests against the proposed iron ore mine in Kallak.
Märak released the single 'Ursäkta om jag stör' in April 2026, continuing her run of new material ahead of a forthcoming original-songwriting album.
Märak was announced as the headliner of Kulturbygdsturnén 2026, a 24-stop national tour of Swedish community halls funded by Kulturrådet, accompanied by musician Louice Ottosson.
Märak released the folk-song album 'Lånat' in June 2025, on which she reinterprets Swedish visor with joik woven throughout, produced together with Emanuel Norrby.
Märak composed and produced the full score for SVT's 2024 Christmas calendar Snödrömmar, a Sámi-themed children's series, and also made a cameo appearance as herself.
Märak released her third full-length album 'Anekdot' in April 2024 via Jubel Artist Agency.
