ShitKid is the stage name of Swedish singer-songwriter Åsa Söderqvist, born in 1992 in Kramfors and based in Gothenburg. She launched the project in 2015 with home recordings on a half-broken computer, signed to Stockholm's PNKSLM Recordings in 2016, and built a cult following across Europe with her lo-fi indie rock, punk and experimental pop. After stepping away from music entirely in 2020, she staged a full comeback in 2026 with two career-spanning compilations and a world tour.
ShitKid played a second Berlin show at Neue Zukunft on June 29, 2026, extending the European leg of her comeback tour.
The Essential Vol. 2 was released alongside fall tour dates covering the UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, following sold-out spring shows in London, Berlin, Paris and Stockholm.
ShitKid announced her first live dates since 2020, with shows in London, Paris, Berlin and Stockholm confirmed for spring 2026.
ShitKid returned to music after abruptly ending the project in 2020, releasing compilations and launching a world tour.
