Los Bitchos & Friends + Support: Sinkane (solo)
Los Bitchos & Friends and solo artist Sinkane perform at Pustervik in Göteborg.
Sinkane is the stage name of Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, a Sudanese-American musician and multi-instrumentalist born in London to Sudanese parents and raised across Sudan, Ohio and New York. His music weaves together krautrock, free jazz, funk, reggae and Sudanese pop into a sound that resists easy categorisation. Before going solo he drummed for Caribou, of Montreal and Yeasayer, and his 2014 album Mean Love - featuring David Byrne and Damon Albarn - brought him wider recognition. His eighth studio album We Belong (City Slang, 2024) marked a new chapter after he completed a master's degree in composition at SUNY Purchase.
Sinkane was on a US tour in late June 2025, with a stop at Natalie's Grandview in Columbus, Ohio.
An extended version of We Belong was released on Bandcamp on 18 October 2025, adding new tracks to the original album.
Sinkane's album We Belong was discussed on NPR in May 2024, with Gallab describing it as drawing on modern African music and his multicultural upbringing.
We Belong was released on 5 April 2024 via City Slang, featuring collaborators including Bilal, STOUT, Hollie Cook, Money Mark and Tru Osborne.
Gallab composed the music for a Roald Dahl stage musical, which made its London debut at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in May 2024.
