The Offline is a solo project blending surf, psychedelia, and hip-hop with analog sound. The music moves between soundtrack and concert territory, inspired by travels along the Atlantic coast and personal memories.
The Offline is the solo project of Hamburg-based German composer and multi-instrumentalist Felix Müller, who builds cinematic instrumental music from analogue textures, live brass, and hip-hop rhythms rooted in 1960s and 70s film and library music. The project grew out of Müller's travels along the Atlantic coast of southern France, where he documented beach life with an analogue camera - an aesthetic that runs through every release. His debut album La couleur de la mer (2023) and the follow-up La grande évasion (2025) on DeepMatter Records have earned him radio support from BBC 6 Music, Jazz FM and Radio FIP, and millions of streams worldwide.
The Offline released Révisé, an 11-track remix album on DeepMatter Records featuring hip-hop producers and MCs including Koralle, Knowsum, SANITY and TURT reworking tracks from his back catalogue.
The Offline's second full-length album La grande évasion was released on DeepMatter Records on 28 November 2025, available on black and transparent violet vinyl with an obi strip.
DeepMatter Records announced La grande évasion with lead single 'Boulevard National', accompanied by a music video, ahead of the November release.
The Offline in Session, a live album capturing tracks from earlier EPs and the debut album performed live for the first time, was released on 27 May 2025.
The Offline released the Les cigales EP on DeepMatter Records, an eight-track instrumental set inspired by summer life in Marseilles.
