About

The Fray is an American rock band from Denver, Colorado, formed in 2002. Piano-driven alt-rock and emotionally direct songwriting brought them global recognition, above all through the RIAA Diamond-certified single "How to Save a Life" (2005), which spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a cultural touchstone via the TV series Grey's Anatomy. After a decade-long hiatus and the 2022 departure of co-founder Isaac Slade, the trio of Joe King, Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki returned in 2024 and released their fifth studio album, A Light That Waits, in March 2026.
