The Zenith Passage is a technical death metal band from Los Angeles, California, active since 2012. Founded by guitarist Justin McKinney, the band built a reputation for extreme technical precision and a sound that weaves in jazz fusion, dissonant black metal and orchestral elements. Their second album Datalysium (Metal Blade Records, 2023) - featuring alumni of The Faceless and Cynic - was praised by Metal Injection as "one of 2023's greatest tech death metal opuses" and charted at the top of the genre.
The Zenith Passage released new single "Fleshbound Reliquary" via Metal Blade Records on December 1, 2025 - their first new material since 2023 and the first track featuring new drummer Maximillian Sepulveda.
The band wrapped a North American tour supporting Entheos alongside Fallujah and Tracheotomy, which began October 30, 2025.
Drummer Maximillian Sepulveda officially joined The Zenith Passage in October 2024.
The Zenith Passage were announced as support on Aborted's 'Slashing Europe' tour for spring 2025 - their first-ever European dates.
The band signed to Metal Blade Records in December 2022 and announced they were working on two albums simultaneously.
