Viktoria Tolstoy (born 1974 in Sigtuna, Sweden) is a Swedish jazz vocalist who has built one of Scandinavia's most distinctive careers across three decades - without ever having taken a formal singing lesson. A great-great-granddaughter of novelist Leo Tolstoy, she broke through with the 1997 Blue Note album White Russian, produced by Esbjörn Svensson, and has since recorded exclusively for ACT Music, winning the German Jazz Award in 2004 for Shining on You.
Tolstoy and Jacob Karlzon released their duo album Who We Are on ACT Music on January 30, 2026, recorded at Musikaliska Kvarteret in Stockholm in August 2025.
Tolstoy and Karlzon performed Who We Are live at NICA Jazz Club in Hamburg on February 21, 2026, as part of the album's European tour.
The album Who We Are received a review in Marlbank (February 17, 2026), noting Tolstoy and Karlzon as excellent musicians with a long-standing partnership.
Tolstoy performed at Heimathafen Neukölln in Berlin in November 2025 as part of her Stealing Moments tour.
Tolstoy and Karlzon recorded Who We Are at Musikaliska Kvarteret, Stockholm, on August 25 and 26, 2025.
