Jävla Karlar 15:00
Christmas Eve 1983, in a villa outside Norrköping: a quarrel erupts and a secret comes to light. Seven-year-old Andrev learns that the man he believes is his father is not. His biological father lives in a distant country and has long hair down to his shoulders - like an Indian, his mother explains, pointing to her elbow. For the boy it is a revelation, like being the main character in a fairy tale where the father is a king and a spirit will soon come to fetch him. No spirit appears. Only new fathers who are not his.
The monologue is written by Andrev Walden and directed by Eva Dahlman. It is performed by Shanti Roney - an actor with around 60 film and television productions to his credit, including "Vägen ut", "Tillsammans", "Tusenbröder", "Tove" and "Nymphomaniac". He has worked with directors such as Lars von Trier, Jan Troell, Tomas Vinterberg and Lucas Moodysson, and performed on stages such as Dramaten, Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen and the National Theatre in Oslo. For his role in "Vägen ut" he was awarded a Guldbagge for best supporting actor. The production had its premiere in January at Scalateatern in Stockholm.
Eva Dahlman has previously directed at Dramaten, Stockholm City Theatre, Malmö City Theatre, Gothenburg City Theatre, Riksteatern, Radio Theatre and Uppsala City Theatre. At Scalateatern she has, among other things, directed and adapted Lena Andersson's novel "Egenmäktigt förfarande" and "Kärleksbrev".
