Elton John meets Freddie Mercury

Johan Boding and Jonas Gideon tour Sweden in autumn 2026 with their show Elton John meets Freddie Mercury. They perform the music of Elton John and Freddie Mercury together with some of Sweden's finest musicians in a visual concert show.

The concept explores a question: what would a musical meeting between the two artists have looked like? Elton John and Freddie Mercury met in the 1970s and shared a deep friendship and mutual respect, but rarely performed together on stage or musically.

Johan Boding has toured the world in arena shows celebrating Freddie Mercury and Queen, and appeared in productions including "Thank you for the music", "Sol vind och vatten", "Den Svenska Sångboken", Rhapsody in rock, Miss Saigon and Jesus Christ Superstar. Jonas Gideon is a musician, singer and pianist who began playing Elton John's songs at age eight. He met Elton John by chance before a concert at Ullevi in 1998, has seen him perform live 14 times, and launched the tribute show "A True Elton John Tribute" in 2023. Throughout his career, Jonas has collaborated with Carola, Molly Sandén, Jennifer Brown, Victor Norén and Janne Schaffer, among others.

The outer doors open at 18:00. Coats are not permitted in the hall and must be checked in the cloakroom (30 kr, paid via Swish). Bags larger than A4 must also be checked (30 kr). Refreshments are available from when the doors open, and the interval menu can be pre-ordered when purchasing tickets - a table will also be reserved. Wheelchair spaces include one free companion and are booked via the online shop. When purchasing tickets, you have the option to donate 10 kr to Barncancerfonden.
