DEN ENFALDIGE MÖRDAREN - RIKSTEATERN
Dennis Magnusson has written this play based on Hans Alfredson's film "Den Enfaldige Mördaren" and the book "En Ond Man - idiotens berättelse". The story revolves around Sven Olsson, a quiet man in 1930s Sweden who never quite finds his place among others. His speech impediment and appearance make him someone people either laugh at or don't even notice. He wants nothing more than to be seen as an ordinary person, to escape poverty and do good, but his very kindness makes him an easy target.
Against him stands factory owner Höglund, who begins as an opportunist but gradually becomes harder when he feels his position threatened. With charm and a smile, he maintains power - and no one protests.
The production is created by playwright Dennis Magnusson and director Dennis Sandin, who have previously collaborated on "Dylansällskapet" and "Kikkiland". On stage are Lennart Jähkel, Einar Bredefeldt, Jessica Liedberg, Dag Malmberg, Angelika Prick and Joel Valois. Set design and costumes: Stine Martinsen. Composition and sound design: Mikael Svanervik. Lighting design: Jörgen Haimanas. Make-up: Anna Olofson. Dramaturg: Jani Lohikari. Publisher: Colombine Teaterförlag.
The performance runs 2 hours 30 minutes including intermission. A Riksteatern production.
