Spice UP Your Life

Spice Up Your Life is a monologue about a young woman's coming of age during the Spice Girls era - a time when an entire generation of young women was expected to choose a ready-made personality (Scary, Sporty, Baby, Ginger, or Posh) as if identity were a consumer choice. With dark humour and circular dramaturgy, we follow her through cycles of depression, where the Spice Girls are the ever-present accused and the audience serves as witnesses.

Five chairs on stage embody pop feminism's ready-made templates, but also become obstacles, antagonists, and tools in the struggle for self-definition. The performance blends confession, stand-up, and performance art into what it calls a pop-exorcism - a way to drive commercial feminism out of the psyche and reclaim control over one's own narrative.

Spice Up Your Life is about false choice, the right to fail, and the desire to speak the truth.
