The blacksmith and fiddler Bjurbäcken places music above his work in the smithy. He finds love in the beautiful Anna-Greta - but everything changes when a religious awakening arrives through the fervent hymn-singing of preacher Axel Herman. Bjurbäcken becomes a pawn in the struggle between heaven and hell, and the fiddle is branded as the key to all evil.
The production is based on a novella by Johan-Olov Johansson. Script and direction: Mats-Arne Larsson. Set design: Einar Larsson. Costumes: Maria Persson. Props: Lottie Almquist. Technical direction/recording: Magnus Strömberg.
