Among Canals, Buildings and Fires
Göteborgs stadsmuseum, Gothenburg
This summer we walk along Västra Hamngatan, one of the city's old main streets. It is a story about canals, city fires, human fates and buildings - featuring bank palaces, insurance companies, cathedral organists and philanthropists who have all left their mark on the city. We also tell the story of the green corridor surrounding the old city centre and about when Gothenburg's richest man was accidentally cremated.
Gathering takes place in the museum foyer. The walk ends at Flora's Hill in Kungsparken. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start.
Places are limited - book via the link. Maximum five bookings per person. If you need to cancel, send an email to bokningar.stadsmuseet@kultur.goteborg.se
We use sound amplification equipment and move through public spaces. Traffic, loud noises, kerbs and cobblestones may be encountered.
