Beneath the Surface on the West Coast - Life, Light and the Quest for the Image — Sjöfartsmuseet Akvariet, Gothenburg

Elias Neuman is a marine biologist, underwater photographer and ambassador for the Voice of the Ocean (VOTO) foundation. In this lecture, he shares insights into life beneath the surface of Sweden's west coast - an environment teeming with animals, complex interactions and behaviours that often escape our notice.

He explores how to learn to see life in an environment where everything initially seems to blend together, the techniques behind underwater photography and the pursuit of capturing the perfect image. The lecture also touches on the role of underwater documentation and the archiving of historical material.

The lecture is included in the museum's admission ticket, but seating is limited. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the programme begins - after that, your place will be reserved if there is a queue. Unreserved places are released until the programme point begins.
