Taverns and Seafaring Life in Old Majorna
Sjöfartsmuseet Akvariet, Gothenburg
Ingår i entrébiljetten
In old Majorna, taverns were densely packed, police were scarce, and Allmänna vägen with its seafaring bars was a dangerous area. Spirits were part of the wages, brawls were everyday occurrences, and women like Eva Ax and Karin på Sågen ran their own taverns. Breweries, large and small, also operated here. This guided walk explores the wild alcohol consumption of old Majorna - but also the forces that opposed it.
The walk starts at Gathenhielmska House, Stigbergstorget 7, and ends at the porter's cart at Klippan. To participate, you must show your booking confirmation and a valid day ticket or Museum Card. Swish payment is available on site.
Simple loudspeaker equipment is used. If you need to cancel, withdraw your place via: info.sjofartsmuseetakvariet@kultur.goteborg.se
