Gathenhielmska Reserve — Sjöfartsmuseet Akvariet, Gothenburg

The Gathenhielmska Reserve at Stigbergstorget is one of Gothenburg's oldest preserved areas, with many buildings remaining from the historic seafaring community of Majorna. This guided city walk explores the stories of Lasse i Gatan, Allmänna vägen with its memories of taverns and bustling life, and Söderlingska Garden - where the wealthy and famous once attended gatherings. The reserve's preservation began in the 1930s when the Gathenhielmska house was saved from demolition following public protests, after which the remaining buildings were preserved one by one.

The walk starts at the Gathenhielmska house, Stigbergstorget 7, and ends in Söderlingska Park, Djurgårdsgatan. To participate, you must present your booking confirmation and a valid day ticket or Museum Card. Swish payment is available on site. Simple sound amplification equipment is used.
