In War and Love

The production weaves together two ancient dramas: Aristophanes' comedy Lysistrata, in which Athenian women go on a sex and love strike to stop the war, and Euripides' tragedy The Trojan Women, set in Troy after the Greeks' victory when the spoils are to be divided. Director Anna Pettersson balances comedy against tragedy to portray the nature of war - and above all how it affects women. The production also includes choral singing.
