Don Quixote
FRI ENTRÈ! Familjeföreställning passande barn från 7 år
A comic and musical performance about the romantic dreamer and self-proclaimed knight Don Quixote and his reluctant companion, the down-to-earth squire Sancho Panza. Miguel de Cervantes wrote this story during the golden age of printing - a time when books glorifying knighthood were circulated like a crusade. As a counterattack came this tale, which debunks the myth of so-called noble knights. The book became one of the most read in the world, second only to the Bible, and questions power structures, foolishness, obedience, lies, and what is worth living for.
The scenography is a work of art in itself: a theatrical machine with countless environments and moods that emerge through rotations, pulls, hatches, and drawers - as changeable as Don Quixote's inner visions. Behind the performance stand actors, musicians, and composers Ove Andersson and Mats Jadin.
The performance is based on Don Quixote (1605-15) by Miguel de Cervantes. Script in new translation: Hans Kellerman. Script adaptation: Hans Kellerman, Ove Andersson, and Mats Jadin. Direction: Hans Kellerman, Kalle Zerpe, Per Nilsson, and Amanda Nilsson. Scenography, costumes, and puppets: Hans Kellerman. Scenography assistants/puppet makers/prompter: Per Nilsson and Amanda Nilsson. Music: Aria from Turandot by G. Puccini, with new text. Technical direction: Björn Arnell.
