The Magic Flute

Mozart's The Magic Flute returns to Gothenburg Opera in December with dazzling animations, comedy and drama in a production for the whole family.

The story follows Tamino, who falls head over heels for a portrait of Pamina and sets out to rescue her from Sarastro - the Queen's enemy who has held her captive. He is joined by the stubborn Papageno, armed with a magic bell and an enchanted flute. But who is truly evil and who is good?

The music features some of opera's most celebrated melodies: the Queen of the Night's iconic aria, the duet between Papageno and Papagena, and Sarastro's profound words of wisdom.
