Theater Regensburg brings George Orwell's dystopian novel to the opera stage at Göteborgsoperan on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Lorin Maazel's composition tells a brutal love story in a world of surveillance and controlled truth, where freedom of thought and the right to love are deadly dangerous. Göteborgsoperan, which opened in 1994 on the banks of the Göta River, seats over 1,300 spectators and stands as one of Gothenburg's most recognizable landmarks. This is one of two Swedish dates on the tour. Tickets range from 150 to 700 kronor.
