The Magic Flute

Tamino falls in love with a portrait of Pamina and sets out to rescue her - but Pamina is the daughter of the Queen of the Night and held captive by her enemy Sarastro. In the midst of the conflict, Tamino receives help from the stubborn Papageno, a magic bell, and an enchanted flute, and must pass several trials. But who is truly evil and who is good?

Mozart's music blends playfulness and seriousness, and the work contains some of opera's most beloved melodies: the Queen of the Night's aria, the duet of Papageno and Papagena, and Sarastro's words of wisdom. The production includes animations and runs in December at Göteborg Opera.
