I list & lust

The production "I list & lust" brings together two short comic operas from the 18th century: "La serva padrona" by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and "Pimpinone" by Georg Philipp Telemann. Both tell the story of servant girls who scheme their way up the social ladder - preferably with the help of their master. Malmö Opera performs them in a modernized, tour-friendly version where Baroque music blends with more contemporary elements.

The roles are performed by Kristine Nowlain (Serpina), Jakob Högström (Pimpinone) and Fredric Thurfjell (Vespone). The orchestra features Annika Bjelk on piano, Fredric Thurfjell on saxophone and Elina Nygren on viola.

The translation and arrangement of both acts are by Carin Bartosch Edström. The conductor is Annika Bjelk, direction by Helena Röhr, scenography, costumes and makeup design by Evelina Johansson, and lighting design by Sofia Linde and Hannele Philipson.
