Work in progress: Imago Dei by Robin Jonsson

On Friday, 25 September at 19:00, Knivsta Centre for Sport and Culture presents an open showing of Imago Dei - a choreographic work by Robin Jonsson exploring the relationship between the human body and artificial presence. The showing lasts approximately 60 minutes and is followed by a conversation with the choreographer. Free admission, but advance booking is required.

On stage, Robin Jonsson as performer and a NAO humanoid robot meet in a minimalist space where movement, response, and gaze are central. The work investigates how we perceive agency, empathy, and life in encounters with the non-human. The scenic direction is established, and the work is now in a phase where dramaturgy, timing, and audience engagement are being deepened before completion.

The project has been developed in collaboration with the Cyber-Physical Systems Lab (CPS Lab) at Uppsala University and is co-financed by Stockholm City, Region Stockholm, and Intercult through the Digital on Stage - Cascade Funding Programme, a European support programme for performing arts that integrates digital technology. The performance has a planned premiere in November 2026 in Leuven, in collaboration with Cultuurconnect as part of the Digital on Stage programme.

Robin Jonsson is a choreographer and artist with over 20 years of experience in performing arts in Sweden and internationally. He works at the intersection of body, technology, and audience relations, often collaborating with interdisciplinary teams of artists, technicians, and developers.
