The Simple Murderer with Lennart Jähkel

The play is based on Dennis Magnusson's dramatization of Hans Alfredsson's film The Simple Murderer (1982) and the book An Evil Man - the idiot's tale. Lennart Jähkel plays the lead role.

At the heart is Sven Olsson, a quiet and kind-hearted man in 1930s Sweden. His speech impediment and appearance make him someone who is overlooked or mocked - never truly counted as part of the community. The play follows what happens when a person's worth is constantly put to the test: the dream of being seen, escaping poverty, being counted.
