Försvarsmusiken 500 Years - Hemvärnets musikkår Uppsala
150 kr · ≈ $15
Hemvärnets musikkår Uppsala celebrates 500 years of Försvarsmusiken in Sweden. The origins trace back to two musicians in Gustav Vasa's palace guard who in 1526 began the era of military music that the ensemble is part of today - from field camps and battlefields through honour guards and ceremonies to concerts and performances.
The programme is a historical overview of military music's development, starting with the simple melodies of the 1500s and progressing to modern orchestral pieces and popular music. The evening also features world premieres of two works specially commissioned for the ensemble through the Swedish Orchestral Association - one by Jimmy Axelsson and one by Andrew Neil Pantelidis-Hermon.
Friday 6 November, 7 pm - 9 pm (30 min interval). Venue: Scenen. Tickets: 150 kr for adults, free for children and young people aged 0-18.
